About the firm : Our client is one of the largest physical commodities trading group globally. The firm sources, stores, transports and delivers a range of raw materials (including oil and refined products and metals and minerals) to clients around the world and has recently established a power and renewables trading division.
About the role : Recruiting a data integration engineer; who is knowledgeable in the full data integration lifecycle in a complex and demanding commercial environment. Based in Mumbai, the engineer will be part of a global team responsible for the ingestion, management, provision of both market data, and fundamental data; for the use of business analysts, data scientists, traders and applications such as dashboards and trading systems.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities :
• Data ingestion / integration, ETL/ELT data pipeline design, data modelling, data provisioning
• Python, SQL
• AWS data stack (E.g. S3, Redshift, EMR, Glue, Athena)
• Experience with data related to commodities, financial markets, power generation, weather or shipping would be a plus.
Abilities, Experience and Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related subjects
• AWS certifications are a plus
• Experience with enterprise scale data systems
Competencies :
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders across business lines and technology
• Understanding and experience implementing software engineering best practices
• Ability to work as part of a global team utilising agile management methods
Key Relations and Department Overview
• The Data Science and Engineering team researches, develops, and provides advanced analytics and data services to the trading business, and other commercial operations.
• It is comprised of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Quantitative Finance experts
• It is a commercially driven, front office aligned team that works in close partnership with the trading desks, global research and enterprise technology
• The role reports into the DSE Global Data Engineering Manager who reports into the DSE Head of Engineering.
