About the firm : Our client is one of the largest physical commodities trading group globally. The firm sources, stores, transports and delivers a range of raw materials (including oil and refined products and metals and minerals) to clients around the world and has recently established a power and renewables trading division.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Certified on VCP-DCV, VCAP-DCV Design/Deploy, VMware Certified Specialist – vSAN, vRealize Operations, HCI, VCP – Desktop Management (7.x and above)

• In-depth understanding of the full VMWare suite including, networking (VSS, VDS) and storage (NFS, iSCSI, vSAN)

• In-Depth knowledge of vRealize tools and utilities, i.e. vROps, Log insight, vRA, vRO

• In-Depth knowledge of VMware Horizon suite

• Demonstrable experience of working within a highly scalable VMware systems, provisioning, performance tuning and optimisation.

• Experience in managing HPE and DELL Hardware

• Experience with data center network architectures, 3-tier (Core, Distribution, Access), spine & leaf fabrics

• Technical knowledge of a wide range of Linux/Windows/Storage/Networking technologies is desirable.

• In Depth Knowledge of PowerShell/PowerCLI/Ansible for providing infrastructure automation.

• End-to-end understanding of systems development life cycle methodology

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of product lifecycles as well as how technical systems work and interact

• Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of all critical Production Support processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the Operations Team.

• Recommend architecture and design enhancements for the VMWare platform

• Perform implementation, maintenance, remediation, and troubleshooting services for enterprise applications using the VMware platform

• Use Powershell/PowerCLI to automate repetitive tasks and create reports used to validate project completion

• Assist L2/L3 support admins on technical issues, standards and procedures

• Assist in managing continuous improvement of engineering, delivery, and operational practices
